GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING CONSULTATIONS DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

We in Walker McDonald are very aware of the concerns which our clients may have in attending consultations during the current Coronavirus pandemic. To mitigate the risk to the health of both our clients and staff, extensive measures have been put in place by way of 3 new Consultation Rooms, where clients can meet with solicitors, separated by screens.

To reduce the waiting time to see a solicitor, it is recommended that you telephone to make an appointment in advance. Please note that, for your own safety, you will not be permitted access to the building prior to your appointment time.

Upon arrival at our offices, you should make our receptionist aware of your name and the name of the solicitor you have an appointment with, by using the intercom at the entrance to the offices. You will then be directed to take a seat in the newly created waiting room which can be accessed by exiting the building; turning right and entering the first green door, of the double doors, adjacent to the building. This will be opened remotely by the receptionist.

When your solicitor is ready to meet you, our receptionist will advise you via the intercom located in the waiting room, as to which Consultation Room you should make your way to. The door leading to Consultation Rooms 2 and 3 will be opened remotely, with Consultation Room 2 being on the ground floor level through the door marked ‘Consultation Room 2’ directly in front of you when you enter the building from the Waiting Room, whilst Consultation Room 3 can be accessed via the stairs on the left as you enter the door from the Waiting Room. When you are exiting the building press the button marked ‘Press to Exit’ to enter the Waiting Room again and then exit it via the door on the right-hand side, marked ‘Way Out’.

Please be careful not to press the green ‘Emergency Exit Button’ unless in the event of an emergency.

If directed to Consultation Room 1 you will be asked to leave the Waiting Room, via the door on the right-hand side leading back onto Edward Street, and then to turn right and enter the adjacent building via the green door which will be opened remotely. Consultation Room 1 can be entered via the first door on the left as you enter the building. After the consultation, you can exit the building by pressing the round green buzzer at which point the door will be opened remotely.

When making your appointment, please advise our staff if you would not be able to access Consultation Room 3, which is accessed via stairs.

Please DO NOT enter any part of the building if you have been asked to quarantine or have any of the following symptoms:-

  • Persistent coughing
  • High temperature
  • Loss of taste/smell

but instead telephone our offices for a telephone or video consultation.

You MUST bring and wear a MASK when entering and until you leave the building unless medically excused.
